Animal Crossing Wii

Since last Friday the "Animal Crossing: City Folk" is available for the Nintendo Wii and this was one of my very much expected games! - I am not the kind of "hardcore-gamer" and I like games that can take me away for a few hours and in which I can interact and create something by my own such as Sims or now Animal Crossing. In AC it's cool that one can visit friends in their own Town via WiFi! And each Town is certainly individual. In each town are growing trees with different fruits, i.e peaches, apples, pears or cherrys, and to get one of another fruit the easiest way is by visiting another town via WiFi. There are Forums in which you can exchange your Friendcode with others, so it is not necessary that only real friends have to be an "Animal Cross'er"...

The other side is that my knitting projects, which have to get finished before Christmas, are now waiting to get back my attention.
Fortunately I am only making two pairs of Gauntlets which are knitted very easy and fast.

But there is something else on which I'm afraid I will not be finished with before Christmas!!! Round about a year ago I started to mount all Home-Videos (which have been about 40 cassettes!!!) on my MacBook and I made it my business to arrange them in an chronological order, edit and trim them and then burn them on DVDs so that I can donate them to my sister and brother. But it is very time-consuming to convert all videos in the DVD-format: this takes approx. 6 hours! - But I have to kick myself in the a** to finally finish all this!!! Mainly also because of the huuuuge disk space all this videos are jamming!

Because of a flu I stayed at home today and between sleeping and sneezing I finished the Jaywalkers for my mom.

Now I'm absolutely knit-less... I hate the search for a new project or more precise: deciding which project I will start next! Perhaps a Beret... we will see....

A few days ago I started with Jaywalker Socks for my mum!
The Pattern is easy but with a nice effect and the "Hunderwasser" sock-yarn does one more thing.

But PHEW!!! This is my first time I tried the V-Heel (or "Heart-Heel" in german) and I detected that this method of knitting a heel is much more time consuming than a short row heel - and heaven knows, I am not a slowly knitter!!!
But anyways I like this alternative and my mum likes it best, when the heel is bulkier which
I implemented by *k, sl1*-knitting.

Books...

...when I was a schoolgirl and even when I was already working and still lived at my parents, I loved it to poke my nose into Books whenever I could. Now, after about 3 years of living in my own Appartment, reading became a hobby that takes a lot more time than it took in the past. Often I start with a book and don't even finish it because after a couple of month of non-reading, it is hard to find back to the story.

But in the last three weeks I made it and finished the Book of Cecilia Ahern "There's no place like here" (german: "Vermiss mein nicht"). So I am totally back into reading and today I got me another Book: "First truth" by Dawn Cook (german: "Die erste Wahrheit"). I will see how much time this story will take and after that there are waiting three more Books of this Fantasy Series!

Cabled Sweater

It fits very well and also the yarn and the color matches perfectly to it.

And above all I only knitted 2 weeks on it! - More less than I ever thought I would knit on a whole pullover/sweater!

Started with a new knit project last weekend: the Cable Sweater from Rebecca #36.

It's a really quick knit, have finished the back piece and am 11,5" in the front piece. I think I'll like the finished sweater pretty much! I'm making it in a bright pink to defy the deary season!

We are going to Mallorca!!!

Yesterday we went to our local travel acengy where a really competent Women helped us to find our summer vacation destination... well, this happened quite quick 'cause the only free flights in whole Europe starting from Frankfurt were booked out and there were only 9 free seats on a flight to Mallorca and back. So we looked for a hotel apart from the party region and found one in Alcúdia, which is in the north of the Isle. Now we are really happy and looking forward for 7 days on the beach starting from the 23th and hopefully are having great weather!

Since today I'm on holidays for the next 3 weeks. Everybody would be very happy - except me!
Needless to say that it's not that I don't like to have holidays - I only hate the arrangements that one has to do before going on holidays... Every year the same story: I can't opt for a destination to go! Now we find us in the situation that we have nothing booked yet! Everything that we can find on the internet that is free is pricy or much too far from the beach... Later this day we will go to a travel agency and hopefully we will find a nice hotel on a greek island 'cause I looked at the weather forecast for Canary and Balearic Isles and it says nothing good for our travel period!
So please keep your fingers crossed for us!

Friday I finished the Berry Baby Hat for Matilda! Made it as a strawberry 'cause I love strawberrys and I think strawberrys look cute on babys and little children

This evening I finished the Ribbed Lace Bolero! I'm quite happy with it... it's only a bit bulky unter the shoulders - but this won't bother me...

I finally finished it!
Yesterday evening while watching the European Football Championship I thought that I unlasting have to finish it! My sleeves turned out longish due to the fact that I had to shorten my front pieces - otherwise it were more a bra than a spencer ‘cause the neckline would have started on the belower half of my boobs… however… my sleeves are now puffed sleeves and this is why I cold-shouldered the project for a week or so - the puffs turned out always a bit too puffy for my taste! Now I think they are ok! I would rather have them “normal” but I don’t know how to convert the sleeves to my needs.

Although my swatch was identical to Canary’s, I had to do some mods at the measurements while knitting ‘cause it seemed ways to large to me.

Also I resend that I haven’t cast on more stichtes for the front pieces than the ones mentioned in the pattern . Even though I cast on 6 more stichtes for the left half where the buttons are sewed on, my breasts blast these little buttons away ;-)

I saw her in the pet shop where she sitted in behind the glass panel and watched me with her little eyes! She is so sweet and I couldn't get around to take her with me!!!!
I named her Schnee, the german word for snow.

I saw a pattern in Ravelry and thought immidiately: WANT IT! :o)
Shipping was quite quick, it took only one week!

I just dipped into it and wheew there are so much lovely knittings I want to do right NOW :-D
Fortunately my Circular Shrug is nearly finished, so I can start with a new project shortly!

Hi... haven't had much time this week... had a secretary workshop from wednesday to friday and at the evenings I was sooo zonked!!! The workshop started at 8:30 until 18:00, then we all had dinner together so I got home at 21:00... WHEW!!! But I learned a lot in these three days!

And over all I met really nice people! We where a group of ten girls from different Branches and did only knew each other from the phone, so it was exciting to face them!

Yesterday I got two packages I expected much!

One thing where my new knitting needles from Knit Picks! I have just given them a try and it's sooo comfortable knitting with them!!! :o)

The other thing was a Pullover from Esprit to which I ogled for a long time... Now it's on sale and so I slammed!!! :o) I like it so much - it has a percentage of cashmere and it is so soft!

First Sweater

I spent my whole day on the sofa! ;-D
Yesterday I cleaned 2,5 hours long the bathroom: floor, tiles, tub, basin, racks, decorations.... almost EVERYTHING!!! - So, you can imagine that today I have been very sluggardly!
I started a new knitting project: a baby sweater. My cousin Edith is expecting a little girl (Matilda) at the end of march, so I thought something self-made would be a great gift. This Sweater will be my first ever! Let's see how it succeeds... Had to rip it off after 2 hours of work, 'cause the shoulder area went out how it has to be, so I had to start completely new! So far it seems all right and keeps hopefully until it's finished!

I'm just coming from the State Ballet from Russia which performed "The Nutcracker" at Jahrhunderthalle here in Frankfurt.

When I was a little ballet-girl, my mom and I went to see the Ensemble oftener. Today was the first time after about 16 years !!! And I was completely hooked again!
Now it is itching me in hands and feet for looking after a new Ballet-School and to sting me to go dancing every now and then.- Anyhow I miss it...it were not less than 12 years
I went to the training twice a week!!

I'm full of vim and vigor!! - Think I'm well-starred this year! ;-D

But though I'm not a person, who can just do nothing!!! So I took my MacBook and tinkered with a new Website in iWeb. Let's see if and when I will put it online... At the moment I don't feel like making a site with much "bells and whistles", so I make it in the typical Apple-Style: white and plain ;-).

Besides I started a new knitting-project from knitty.com. It's going to be a little handbag in mint green - pictures are coming soon.

Mac Expo

Today was THE day for all Apple-Fans!!!

OK, the new MacBook Air didn't exactly knock me for a loop - but I like it though! The new AppleTV-Features and Time Capsule are great!!!

And of course I installed the new Firmware-Update for my iPhone instantly!!! ;-) Until the installiation stopped: "An error occured while updating!!!" - So I had to reset my Phone and all my data and particularly all my SMS were deleted!!! But after the second try the Update was successfully completed and my iTunes then asked me if I wanted to restore my iPhone Back-Up - so I klicked"YES".
Yippieeeh!!! All my Contacts and SMS were there again!!! - And this shows me why I LOVE Apple!!! ;-D

Hi,
since a long time in absence it has catched me again! ;-D - After I deleded my private domain a few years ago and removed me entirely from the virtual life, I now sense some tickling again and will no longer be present anonymously in other blogs or sites.

An other reason is that 6 month ahead my creative vein has started pulsing again and so I familiarized myself with knitting and crocheting. Thus I found me on various Handcrafting-Blogs and Sites and I thought that it would be nice to showcase my own creations to who's interested in (or not ;-D )

We will see how this turns out to be...
